Time screws me

I’d like to do a painting of Ulorin Vex http://www.ulorinvex.com/home.html  as a steampunky chick or simply a nude, but I don’t know if I have the time.  I just finished Mettle’s Forge‘s cover and I suppose I’m going to have to decide whether or not I want to try to publish When Gods Awaken or Fortress Humanity next.  So I’ll need a cover for one of them.  Gods has got to be a space scene of some kind and I’m not sure how well I can do it.  I think Fortress will be the main character shooting a zombie but I’m not sure.  Either one is liable to be a lot of work, even discounting the cost of hiring a model.

    • This is getting a bit more sjucebtive, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of neighbors will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune Social is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

  1. Hello,

I critiqued ‘When Gods Awaken’, as you might remember. I never heard from you after that, so now I got around to wondering what happened to that novel. I liked it, so I’m glad that you’re thinking about publishing it.

If you have trouble making a cover picture for it, there are people at DeviantArt who would be glad to do the job (for suitable payment, of course). I had the cover for my fantasy novel ‘Tochwyatis’ (currently available at Smashwords, has already been shipped to Diesel, Apple and Barnes&Noble; Kobo, Sony and Amazon will hopefully be added soon) done by Dale Ziemianski for USD 200 and I liked the result. If you find that price stiff, I think there are others who are willing to do it for less.

    • You were on critters.org? It’s been a long time since I put the novel on there, so I’d kind of forgotten.

I’m eventually publishing Gods but I’ve got a couple of books to publish before that. It’s going to take a bit more editing work than other novels I’ve done, so it’ll probably be a few months.

Thanks for the DeviantArt advice. I’ll check it out.
